This course is designed for high school, homeschool or adult students and covers the basics of digital photography. This course will challenge you to find and capture images using current practices and equipment. No experience is required. All you need is a digital camera and software that will let you make basic editing adjustments to exposure and composition.
Assignments are "paced" to complete in an average school setting in a semester, however, schools that run for a full year may also modify the due dates to fit their schedule. Adults may work at any pace they wish. Most adults complete the work in 6 to 8 weeks.
This course meets the California State Standards for a course in Fine or Applied Arts as well as provodes the number of hours of instruction and student interaction that most schools require.
No special equipment or software is required. We usually say that you need something a little better than a cell phone, but now the newer models give you some great controls so that may be sufficient.
SCHOOLS may get a discount on this class by providing their own instructor to receive and grade student work. The normal price for SCPHOTO instruction is $80 per student but that price is reduced to $20 each when your instructor provides the assessment.
